The purpose behind summer groups is to bridge the gap between preschool services and Kindergarten development. Groups are carefully crafted to build on children's strengths and provide them with the necessary skills for Kindergarten. For children in Kindergarten that would benefit from specialized instruction over the summer, opportunities are also available. Groups will focus on building fine motor skills (ex. coloring, grasp, hand dominance, cutting, zipping, etc.), core strength (ex. ability to sit up on the floor and at the table, yoga, etc), cooperative play, and self-care (ex. washing hands, opening containers, etc).
